Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of "Otolog" (the "App"), provided by freetokyo (the "developer"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms.
2. In-app purchase (one-time)
App Store: The App is free to use, and the free tier covers up to 3 students and 1 custom method book. Purchasing "Otolog Pro" makes students and custom method books unlimited and unlocks the PDF progress report and the Home Screen widget.
Otolog Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase — not a subscription. There is no auto-renewal and no recurring billing. The price is ¥2,000 (Japan App Store). Purchase and payment are handled by Apple.
After changing devices or reinstalling, restore it from Settings > Restore Purchase (the same Apple Account used for the purchase is required).
3. Your data
Data you enter is stored only on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
4. Backup and data loss
The App has no server and no cloud sync, so your data is lost if the device is lost, damaged, or erased, or if the App is deleted. Export a file regularly from Settings > Encrypted Backup and keep it yourself. If you lose the backup password, no one — including the developer — can restore it. The developer is not responsible for data loss.
5. Your responsibility
The App handles personal information about students and their guardians. Complying with the laws that apply to collecting and handling that information is your responsibility. Storing data on your device by design does not exempt you from those obligations. This page is general information, not legal advice.
6. About method books
The preset method books exist solely to track progress by piece number; they contain no sheet music or song title data. Titles are shown for identification only and do not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by their publishers.
7. Disclaimer
The App is provided as is. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.
8. Changes
If these terms change, this page will be updated.

Android purchases, and use by minors
In-app purchases in the Android version are processed through Google Play. Payment and refund procedures follow Google Play's terms and processes. Google Play handles refunds immediately after purchase; after that window, please contact us through the support page.
Minors may use this app, but should obtain a parent or guardian's consent before making an in-app purchase. Guardians can control purchases with Family Sharing / Ask to Buy on the App Store, or Parental Controls on Google Play.
Limitation of liability (overriding)
Notwithstanding any other provision of these terms, Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for any damages arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app. Where such a limitation is not permitted by mandatory law, we are liable to the extent that law provides.
