Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

Acceptance

By downloading or using Muddah, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What Muddah is

Muddah is a personal tool for recording your own documents and their expiry dates and for reminding you before they expire. It is not affiliated with any government or government service, and it does not provide legal, immigration, or any other professional advice. Always confirm official requirements, dates, and procedures with the relevant authority.

The renewal checklists in the app are a personal aid, not a statement of official requirements. Requirements vary by country, year and sponsor.

Reminders

Reminders are delivered on your device by iOS and are subject to iOS limitations, including a cap on how many can be pending at once. Muddah schedules the nearest ones and refreshes them whenever you open the app, but does not guarantee that every reminder will be delivered. You remain responsible for renewing your documents on time.

Reading dates from a scan

When you scan a document, Muddah may suggest expiry dates it recognised in the image. These are suggestions only and are never applied automatically. Please check any suggested date against the document itself before saving it.

Purchases

App Store: Muddah Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. It unlocks unlimited documents and members and additional features, and it works with Family Sharing. Purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's terms. You can restore a previous purchase from the Settings screen.

Your data

All data you enter stays on your device. You are responsible for keeping your own backups; deleting the app deletes your data. See our Privacy Policy.

Warranty and liability

Muddah is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, freetokyo is not liable for any loss arising from missed expiries, undelivered reminders, or reliance on the app. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from our intent or gross negligence, nor to any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you as a consumer.

Android purchases, and use by minors

In-app purchases in the Android version are processed through Google Play. Payment and refund procedures follow Google Play's terms and processes. Google Play handles refunds immediately after purchase; after that window, please contact us through the support page.

Minors may use this app, but should obtain a parent or guardian's consent before making an in-app purchase. Guardians can control purchases with Family Sharing / Ask to Buy on the App Store, or Parental Controls on Google Play.

Limitation of liability (overriding)

Notwithstanding any other provision of these terms, Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for any damages arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app. Where such a limitation is not permitted by mandatory law, we are liable to the extent that law provides.
