Frequently Asked Questions
How does the recovery score work?
Your recovery score is calculated from three metrics read from Apple Health: Heart Rate Variability (HRV, SDNN) accounts for 50%, Resting Heart Rate accounts for 30%, and Sleep Duration accounts for 20%. Each metric is compared to your personal 28-day baseline to produce a score from 0–100. HIGH is 76–100, MODERATE is 51–75, and LOW is 0–50.
Why is my score showing "—" (dash)?
A dash (—) means RecoverySync has no data for last night yet — not that the app is still calibrating; a score appears from your very first night of data. In the Health app, make sure Sleep, Heart Rate Variability and Resting Heart Rate are all allowed for RecoverySync, and turn on sleep tracking in the Watch app so your Apple Watch records sleep overnight.
Does RecoverySync work without an Apple Watch?
Yes, as long as the data reaches Health. RecoverySync reads heart rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep from Apple Health, not from a particular device. Apple Watch (Series 4 or later) is one example; any wearable or app that writes these three to Health while you sleep works the same way. If Health has none of this data, the app shows an empty state instead of a score.
Why does the app need access to my Health data?
RecoverySync reads HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate, and sleep data from Apple HealthKit to calculate your recovery score. This is the only purpose for which health data is used. The data is processed entirely on-device and never leaves your iPhone.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open RecoverySync and go to Settings → Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. If the issue persists, contact Apple Support for purchase-related assistance.
Does the app sync data to iCloud or any server?
No. RecoverySync stores all data locally on your device only. There is no cloud sync, no account, and no server. Your data never leaves your device (unless included in your iCloud device backup, which is controlled by your iOS settings).
My Apple Watch complication is not showing — how do I fix it?
Open the Watch app on your iPhone → My Watch tab → scroll to RecoverySync → tap it → make sure the complication is added to your active watch face. You can also long-press your watch face → Edit → select a complication slot → choose RecoverySync.
What Apple Watch models are supported?
Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 10.0 or later, paired with an iPhone on iOS 17.0 or later. This also covers the optional Watch app and complications. Apple Watch itself is not required if another device writes these three data types to Health.
Compatibility
- iOS 17.0+

- Optional: Apple Watch Series 4+ (watchOS 10.0+)

About the Android version
The Android version supports Android 9.0 and later. Download it from Google Play.
To move to a new phone, export a backup from inside the app and import it on the new device. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are both disabled in the Android version, so nothing carries over automatically.
